CSCS provides quality, simplified healthcare and personal cost savings for those who receive their needed surgery through a CSCS provider. Once eligibility is determined, our Surgical Care Team—with the help of our nurse navigators—will research the best healthcare provider options. Before offering a recommendation, they’ll assess the provider’s success rate for the specific medical condition, the provider’s education and years of experience, and the member’s location and preferences. Once the provider is determined, members will be able to coordinate on a surgical date that works for them. Plus, our team checks in before surgery to offer encouragement and prayer.
Is CSCS used for pre-existing conditions?
Because CSCS is available for current CHM members who have a diagnosis and a surgery recommendation, it isn’t used for pre-existing conditions. It’s important to note that the CHM Guidelines distinguish between two types of pre-existing conditions: active and maintained. Active conditions aren’t eligible for sharing; however, there are two options (scheduled sharing, or CHM Give) available to members with eligible maintained conditions!
