CHM has set the standard for service to its members by becoming the first health cost sharing ministry (HCSM) to earn independent, third-party accreditation. The accreditation status was granted by Demotech, a company renowned for its independent, certified financial stability ratings in the fields of life, health, and fraternal insurance, property and casualty insurance, title insurance, and self-funded entities.
Forty-one years ago, CHM was birthed—not to be a health insurance company, but to be a ministry—modeling a Galatians 6:2 community where Christians bear each other’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. Since then, our members have satisfied 100% of each other’s eligible medical bills—totaling billions of dollars—not because anyone forced them to, but because as a community of shared faith they said they would.
This is an amazing testimony to the power of God in the life of our ministry members, that inspires and demands our staff’s best efforts. Accreditation—achieving it and maintaining it—is a continuous call to the excellence that has been CHM’s hallmark since it began.
We challenged Demotech to develop accreditation for HCSMs because, like CHM, they are best-in-class and have an industry leadership track record similar to CHM’s in health cost sharing.
Demotech’s Faith-Based Sharing Review™ process comprehensively evaluates the various components of an individual health care sharing ministry, including financial information, program guidelines, management and operational practices, historical operating results, and provides an opinion as to the ministry’s capability to serve its members.
At CHM, we believe that God’s people deserve excellence. While we’re confident in the excellence of our ministry, we’re not just asking members and potential members to take our word for it, because we now have independent, third-party validation.
Please know how grateful and honored we are to serve you!
