CHM’s first-in-nation accreditation is evidence of the top-notch care and service CHM members receive, thanks to the faithfulness of their brothers and sisters in Christ.
CHM’s earned accreditation from Demotech, a firm that conducts independent, certified financial stability ratings in the fields of life, health, and fraternal insurance, property and casualty insurance, title insurance, and self-funded entities. Because CHM isn’t insurance, Demotech put its experience to work and fashioned an accreditation measurement tool for health cost sharing ministries. After rating Christian Healthcare Ministries in 30 areas of financial and operational accountability, Demotech awarded CHM 95/100 on the Faith-Based Sharing Review™.
Demotech’s Faith-Based Sharing Review™ evaluates health cost sharing ministries on:
- Core qualifications, as defined by the law
- Transparency of operations
- Ministry motivation
- Financial accountability
- Member/consumer protection
“The process was comprehensive,” said Joe Petrelli, Demotech president and co-founder. “CHM was subjected to our 30-point review and consideration criteria,” he said. “Everyone we met with was candid and open in both initial responses as well as follow-up questions. It was clear to us that ministry is at the epicenter at CHM.”
Demotech’s accreditation highlights for CHM members and prospective members the ministry’s dedication to its mission of serving God’s people by sharing Christians medical bills.

Accreditation—achieving it and maintaining it—is a continuous process.
