December marks the official beginning of winter, and few things warm a winter night quite like a fresh bowl of beef stew. This hearty beef stew recipe is not only tasty—it’s easy, too!
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs of fresh beef stew meat (portobello mushrooms can be used as a meat substitute)
- 2 onions
- 1 slice of bread
- 4 potatoes
- 4 carrots
- 2 stalks celery
- 2 tbsp of tapioca
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worchester sauce
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Dice onions
- Break up the slice of bread
- Peel and cube potatoes
- Slice carrots and celery
- Put all ingredients in greased roaster or crock pot
- Cover with water
- Roast at 300 degrees, covered, for three hours. If you use a crock pot, cook roughly four hours on high.
Enjoy!
