Meet your staff: Jennifer Murrey, Kendall Kehres and Jamie Kahn
Jennifer Murrey and Kendall Kehres joined CHM’s Member Assistance department. They answer questions about the ministry and make changes to members’ accounts. Jamie Kahn serves on the Member Bill Processing team and enters medical bill information into the ministry’s database.
In what ways do you enjoy serving members? Praying for them and sending them cards are two of my favorites. I can’t tell you how often I wish I could give CHM members a hug, even more so when they’re going through a difficult medical situation.
What accomplishments are you proud of? At 34 years old, my husband and mother-in-law taught me how to ride a bike. I learned at the same time my children were learning. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?
Which household chore do you most despise? Dusting! It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it…eventually.
Tell us about your favorite Bible passage. Romans 12 comes to mind, but especially Romans 12:1. It’s a powerful reminder that God created our bodies to be a living sacrifice, one that’s holy and pleasing to Him. This passage is the foundation of growth in life and a reminder to completely surrender my life’s plans to Him.
What was your first job? Throughout high school, I worked at an ice cream shop with some of my best friends. We ate all the ice cream we wanted. Talk about a job that’s hard to beat!
Where have you traveled in your lifetime? I’ve visited various places within the United States and the Caribbean, but Haiti was my favorite. I spent several months there as an intern for a mission organization, and I can’t wait for my next opportunity to return for a visit.
Who inspires you? I love my children’s love and faith in Jesus. They have a passion to share the Good News to everyone they meet. We start each day with a grateful heart, and the mind to be kind and show love to others.
What’s your favorite childhood memory? Traveling with my grandparents each summer! I cherish my grandpa teaching me to read a map, seeing all they could show me, and learning from their wisdom. My grandfather planted in me a desire to know Jesus. I saw so much of the beauty God graciously gifted to mankind.
What’s the most recent book you’ve read? Each day I read a devotional from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. I also just joined a small group with wonderful Christian women who want to do a book study. We’re starting with Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst.
